Orange Cyberdefense Falls Victim to a Cyberattack
No rest for hackers! After TikTok and WeChat, this week it’s Orange Cyberdefense’s turn.
The telecommunications giant’s cybersecurity division had personal data stolen from more than 1,500 customers. The hacker reportedly posted a list on the dark web that included names, phone numbers, email addresses, and company names. This list appears to affect only customers who subscribed to the “Micro-SOC Endpoint” service. Among them are city halls, hospitals, media outlets, and others.
The hackers have not yet explained their motives, but since the data breach was relatively small and targeted, we believe a disgruntled employee may be behind this attack.
From 15,000 euros to more than 4 million euros
This is “the median cost of a cyberattack” for French companies.
